Coconut Software announced support for Reserve with Google for banking customers in both Canada and the U.S., allowing customers to book appointments with their financial institution directly through Google.
Reserve with Google allows individuals—both current customers and prospects—to book appointments with a business directly through Google Search, Google Maps, or Google Assistant.
“Our extended partnership with Reserve with Google is a game changer for Canadian financial institutions. Today’s consumers are expecting to be helped in a way that is convenient for them – Google Search, Google Maps and Google Assistant is a key ways for customers to connect with their bank or credit union,” says Coconut Software, CEO, Katherine Regnier.
Coconut Software is a provider of customer engagement solutions for banks and credit unions and is backed by investments from Bay Partners, Conexus Venture Capital Fund, PIC Investment Group, SaskWorks Venture Fund, Information Venture Partners, and ScaleUp Ventures, with additional financing by CIBC.
The TASBIA™ Bottom Line
Reserve with Google started offering financial services as a supported vertical in 2019, and until now, has restricted this feature to the United States market only. By opening up the Canadian market, Saskatoon-based Coconut is now uniquely positioned to take advantage of this integration with an existing set of Canadian banking customers, as well as the ability to operate with the US market. Coconut’s financial services focus means that they now have a more complete solution for their customers.
This integration allows customers or prospects to view branch specific services and availability, and then book an appointment directly from Google search results. This avoids the friction of using a specific bank or credit union website, and can lead to new customers through web browsing based discovery. Coconut Software claims that nearly one-third of all mobile searches are related to location, with 55% of searches resulting in a visit within 1 hour, which means that this integration could have a major positive impact for their customers.
